Validation & Normgroups
Norm Groups
Norm groups are composed of a large and clearly defined reference or peer group, sharing one or more similar characteristics (e.g. education, function, culture ...).
By matching individual performance with that of a significant norm group, the proper meaning and weight is given to assessment results.
When making decisions on the basis of an assessment, it is vital to select the most suited and relevant norm group.
In order to allow correct and relevant evaluation of an individual's performance, Thalento® provides a large variety of reliable norm groups.
All Thalento® norm groups are composed of sufficiently large sample groups (>200) and defined in function of a broad range of characteristics, such as language, culture, function type, sector and education levels.
In addition, Thalento® enables you to work with company and/or function-specific norm groups, ensuring accurate evaluation of performance and potential to the fullest.
Validation
Validity is about the extent to which assessment outcomes match current or predict future performance accurately.
Assessment instruments presented on the Thalento® online test platform score a minimum match of 70-80% between assessment and actual job performance.
In order to ensure a maximum value of its online assessment tools, Thalento® commits to continuous efforts with the aim to examine and confirm their validity by means of statistical analysis and field studies.
Field studies typically consist of the analysis of the relationship between assessment results of a cross section of a particular workforce and their ranking on an objective performance scale.
To ensure impartiality, all statistical analysis and studies are performed under supervision of the Thalento® Scientific Advisory Board and in association with The University of Hasselt based Center for Statistics (CenStat).
